Many LLC resources can be accessed online through Canvas. Visit your Canvas Dashboard to check if you already have access to the LLC ESL course. If you do not, it's easy to join! Just use the self-enrollment link, log in to Canvas, and click the blue button that says "Enroll in Course". Do this once and you will have access to the ESL resources for as long as you need!
Each semester, you will need to register for LLC AMLA to access the study resources the LLC has available. It's very easy to register! Just log in to your Student Portal and add the LLC AMLA CRN like you would any other class. We also have detailed instructions and a list of current LLC CRNs linked from the LLC homepage.
LLC Facilities
The LLC Open Lab has 71 student stations, each equipped with state-of-the-art touchscreen computers, headsets, webcams, and fast internet.

Rosetta Stone
Did you know that every Mt. SAC student can access a FREE Rosetta Stone account through the Language Learning Center? Just follow the instructions above to register for the LLC and then log in to Rosetta Stone using the link in the LLC ESL or AMLA Canvas.
Rosetta Stone is also part of our Passport Rewards program, where you can earn prizes for completing LLC activities!
SDLA Tutoring
ESL, VESL, and AMLA students can make appointments to meet with a tutor one-on-one to review provided SDLA topics.

The Talks
Practice speaking English in a small group guided by a tutor! These one-hour sessions are low-pressure--no homework or tests, just speaking practice.
All Talks are one hour long and take place on Zoom. Each session is limited to 15 students to give everyone the best opportunity to practice speaking, so advance registration is recommended.
Students in Foundations-Level 2 can join Low Level Talks. Students in Levels 3+, VESL, and AMLA can join Upper Level Talks. Check out the LLC ESL Canvas or our Calendar to view topics, schedules, and to register for a session today!
ESL Grammar Games
Students in Levels 3+, VESL, and AMLA can join ESL Grammar Games every week (fall and spring semesters only). In each one-hour in-person session, the tutor will briefly review a grammar topic before leading the group in a variety of games to practice using that grammar.
Students are encouraged to come to the LLC to use Focus on Grammar software to practice their grammar before the sessions.

Video Libraries
The LLC ESL Canvas has several different video series you can watch to practice your listening skills and brush up on your grammar and vocabulary. There are videos designed for beginning, intermediate, and advanced students so that the speakers are not too fast or too slow for your English level.
We also have a variety of movies available if you are looking for more authentic listening material.

Mango Languages
Mango Languages is a software program (available on the computer or in a mobile app) that uses a conversation-based approach to teach dozens of languages, including English. The best part is, it will use your native language to help you learn! Follow the instructions above to register for the LLC and then go to the Mango Languages page to get started.
On-Campus Software
The LLC has several software programs available on computers in the lab. Practice grammar using Focus on Grammar, build your vocabular using Heinle Picture Dictionary, or improve your pronunciation with American Speech Sounds.
Check into the lab in 77-1005 and ask a staff member to show you how to access these useful tools!
Audio & Web Resources
ESL Level Class students can access the Audio and Video resources for their class textbook through the Level page in the LLC ESL Canvas.
