Jaime Rodriguez

Jaime Rodriguez is a proud product of the community college system. He attended Riverside City College and Norco College before transferring to UCLA where he obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Master’s degree in Higher Education and Organizational Change (HEOC). As an undergraduate at UCLA, Jaime developed a deep appreciation for research. He also was very eager to learn more about community college transfer students when realizing a small percentage reach their goal of transferring from a community college to a four-year university. This led him to conducting research and writing his honors thesis on the Latina/o transfer function.

By participating in the HEOC program, he learned from exceptional faculty members that emphasized quantitative and qualitative research. This provided a strong foundation for his career path in institutional research. The HEOC program also provided him the opportunity to further develop and refine his equity lens by placing great emphasis on research and topics related to race, equity, and diversity in higher education.

Jaime worked in different capacities within the community college system over the last eleven years, but primarily all related to research at Cerritos College, El Camino College, Riverside Community College District, and Moreno Valley College.

Jaime has worked on various projects and has extensive experience with projects related to accreditation, student equity, strategic planning, program review, and Power BI. Specifically, he holds extensive experience working on projects related to student equity. At his previous institution, he played an instrumental role in developing data for student equity plans and coaching people to understand the complexities of disproportionate impact, and ultimately, to better understand equity findings.

Being a former community college student, Jaime’s personal and professional goal is to create increasing opportunities for all community college students to academically succeed. He is very excited to work at Mt. San Antonio College and is determined to assist the institution in all research related efforts in order to excel, and more importantly, to help students achieve their academic and personal goals.

Jaime resides in Riverside and enjoys reading, hiking, visiting national parks, spending time with family and friends, and eating delicious food with great company.
