Kaitlyn Yrineo

Kaitlyn Yrineo has over 10 years of experience serving students in higher education in various capacities. She found her passion for higher education early in her professional career. After beginning community college at Fullerton College in 2012, she soon discovered the EOPS/CARE Program, where she worked as a work-study student.

In 2014, Kaitlyn was hired as a Professional Expert specializing in high school outreach and recruitment, which played a key role in igniting her passion as a servant leader and agent of change. In 2016, she expanded her experience by working with Cal State Fullerton’s Transfer Center, where she assisted transfer students in their transition to the university.

Kaitlyn earned a bachelor’s degree in Sociology with a concentration in Health and Social Welfare, which serves as the foundation for her dedication to supporting students in higher education and the broader community. She is currently pursuing her Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy at Pepperdine University.

At Mt. San Antonio College (Mt. SAC), Kaitlyn serves as the Program Specialist for the EOPS and CARE Program, sat on the Basic Needs Committee (BNC), supports the CalFresh initiative through hands-on assistance with the Basic Needs Program, and had been appointed as the Treasurer for Raíces, a Latinx Faculty and Staff Association that advocates for the needs and interests of Latinx employees (2019 - 2020).

In addition to her work in higher education, Kaitlyn is a Mental Health Counselor at Grandma's House of Hope, where she provides individual therapy to some of the most vulnerable members of the community, supporting individuals experiencing homelessness, mental health challenges, and addiction.

Kaitlyn aspires to continue serving students and the community in an even greater capacity through her work in higher education and mental health services.
