Matthew Kellen Burgos

An award-winning director, playwright and actor, Matthew has been working in collegiate/professional theater for over twenty years.  He holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin - La Crosse and a master's degree from the prestigious Florida State University School of Theatre in Directing.

Currently, Matthew is the Artistic Director of VanguardRep and has dedicated his professional career to the creation and cultivation of new works.

His most recent credits include:  ROSETTA multi-disciplinary series, On the Third Day (World Premiere), Br'er Cotton (Atlanta Regional Premiere), Persephone's Watch (original TFYA play for the Skirball Cultural Center), After the Autumn (VanguardRep original), 12th Night (original adaptation), Juliet &her Romeo (original adaptation), Saint Joan (MET Theater, Los Angeles), Boeing Boeing, Big Love, The Diviners, The Illusion, Still Life with Iris, How I Learned to Drive, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Marat/Sade, Metamorphoses, Oedipus Rex, among others.
