A²MEND is a student success program committed to supporting Black men and others at Mt. SAC through mentorship, academic support, leadership development, resources, and a strong sense of community.
Brotherhood Meetings are a space to connect with other students, have real conversations, build meaningful relationships, and support one another through the college journey. Whether you’re already part of A²MEND or just interested in learning more, come through, meet the Brotherhood, and get connected!

Wave Check: Barbershop Talk brings the barbershop experience to Mt. SAC! Designed as a culturally relevant basic-needs and community-building experience, Wave Check creates a welcoming space for Black men and others to connect, engage in conversation, and take care of an essential grooming need.
Two professional barbers will be on-site providing FREE haircuts and lineups while students kick back, connect, and enjoy the barbershop atmosphere. Space is
limited and services are available first come, first served, so pull up early and get your cut!
Light refreshments will be served while supplies last.

Experience the rich history, culture, and traditions of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) on our HBCU Fall 2026 Tour! From October 12–18, 2026, students will travel through Tennessee, Alabama, and Georgia to visit eight distinguished HBCUs:
- Tennessee State University
- Fisk University
- Alabama A&M University
- Talladega College
- Tuskegee University
- Morehouse College
- Spelman College
- Clark Atlanta University
Participants will have the opportunity to explore campus life, connect with admissions
representatives, learn about transfer pathways, and gain firsthand insight into the
academic excellence, rich traditions, and vibrant culture of HBCUs. As part of the
tour, participants will have the unique opportunity to experience Clark Atlanta University's
Homecoming, one of the nation's premier HBCU homecoming celebrations!
This incredible experience is FREE and includes airfare, ground transportation, hotel accommodations, and all meals.

The Umoja XXII Annual Conference will take place November 18-21, 2026, at the Ontario Convention Center in Ontario, California.
This year's conference will celebrate the brilliance, leadership, and transformative
power of Umoja students while reaffirming our collective commitment to culturally
grounded, student-centered education. As Umoja continues to expand its impact across
California and beyond, the conference will bring together students, educators, administrators,
researchers, wealth generators, and community partners who are dedicated to advancing
Black student success in higher education.
Students will have the opportunity to engage in empowering workshops, connect with
Umoja students and professionals from across the state, develop leadership skills,
and participate in a transformative experience centered on community, culture, and
academic success.
