Why Learn Arabic?
Arabic is spoken by over 400 million people across the world. It is the official language of 26 countries primarily in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
Here are three compelling reasons to learn Arabic:
1. Access to a Rich Cultural and Historical Legacy:
Arabic is the key to understand a vast and diverse cultural heritage that spands literature,
philosophy, art, and science. By learning Arabic, students can explore the works of
renowned poets, philosophers, and scholars from the Arab world, gaining a deeping
appreciation of the contributions of Arabic-speaking cultures to global civilization.
2. Strategic Career Opportunities:
Arabic is one of the most spoken languages globally and is in high demand in various
fields, including international business, diplomacy, journalism, and intelligence.
Proficiency in Arabic opens doors to careers in government agencies, multinational
corporations, NGOs, and more, giving students a competitive edge in the global job
market.
3. Enhanced Global Understanding and Communication:
In a world increasingly interconnected, learning Arabic allows students to communicate
with millions of people across the Middle East and North Africa. It fosters better
understanding and collaboration, bridging cultural gaps and contributing to more informed
perspectives on global issues, especially in regions where Arabic is the primary language.
Mt. SAC offers beginning and intermediate, university-transferable Arabic language courses that include both verbal and written learning, taught by native speakers in both English and Arabic.
