Dr. Martha Garcia
As the 10th President/CEO of Mt. San Antonio College, she is the first President of color for
the College, as well as the second female President. Dr. Martha Garcia is driven to serve the students, whose experiences often reflect her own.
Dr. Garcia was the first in her family to pursue higher education, getting her start at a community college. Her parents, both from Mexico, worked as farmworkers so their children could have better opportunities in life. She is committed to the transformative power of higher education and student-centered leadership. The values she learned from her parents – hard work, perseverance, honesty, and respect – guide and inspire her.
Dr. Garcia also serves or has served in leadership roles on boards and task forces of numerous organizations, including the California Association of Latino Community College Trustees and Administrators, Community College League of California Committees, and the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Implementation Workgroup.
Dr. Fawaz Al-Malood
Dr. Fawaz Al-Malood is the Associate Dean for the Business Division at Mt. San Antonio College. The Business Division is the third largest division on campus serving nearly 26K students annually across 15 disciplines.
Dr. Al-Malood served in numerous capacities within academia including: Professor, Program Coordinator, Cohort Director, Department Chair, CFO, as well as Trustee. Dr. Al-Malood received his academic and professional training in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, and Education Management in the United States, South Africa, Switzerland, and the Middle East. Prior to receiving his academic appointment at Mt. San Antonio College, Dr. Al-Malood held positions with: The Ritz-Carlton, Hilton, Starwood, and other hospitality organizations.
Derek Dokter
Derek Dokter is an engaging and creative professor at Mt. San Antonio College with a proven record of performance by focusing on motivating students to achieve higher learning goals. Derek is an avid professor who promotes community connections to add value to students in the marketplace.
Derek is known to effectively meet the needs of faculty and students by successful problem-solving, organizational skills, and excellent communication. He has a passion for providing an inclusive environment that includes positive interaction, a trusted setting, and technology advance experience.
Erika Bowers
Erika Bowers is an Accounting Professor with Senior Management experience in managing multiple
clients from the implementation stage to the steady-state environment. Ability to
work in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment to meet the demands of both
internal and external contacts.
