Math Support Resources

The Mt. SAC Math and Computer Science Department wants to help ensure you are on your way to successfully completing your math requirement! Many students find math challenging, so here are some supports that are available to you at Mt. SAC.  Whether you are currently enrolled in a math class, or planning to take a math class in the near future, we have support options to help you take charge of your learning and prepare for success.

      • Calculus Workshops

        Calculus Workshops

In Fall 2024, we are excited to offer workshops  for students enrolled in Math 180 and Math 181. Starting in week 3, we will be holding weekly sessions focused on active learning activities that we are calling a Collaborative Calculus Community, or C-Cubed. These sessions will not include lecture and are not meant to replace class time, but to provide another community of support and guided practice on the core concepts of these classes. Ideally, students who find they need a little extra help in their class would enroll in the appropriate CRN and attend up to 2 sessions per week based on their availability. These are first-come, first-served session and will be held at the following times:

        Math 180
        *Tuesday 2:15-3:15pm (61-2311)
        *Wednesday 10:30-11:30am (61-2316)
        *Thursday 8:30-9:30am (61-2302)
        Friday (extended session)  9:00-10:30am (61-2316)

*These sessions will be repeat content so students should only attend one of these and then the Friday session.

        Math 181
        Wednesday 12:30-1:30pm (61-3411)
        Friday (extended session): 10:30am-12pm (61-2316)

We hope to see you there!
If you have any questions, please email Professor Lisa Morales (lmorales73@mtsac.edu) and Professor Paula Young (pyoung@mtsac.edu).
