Study Room Rules & Regulations

The Student Center's study open areas and study rooms provide a space for Mt. SAC students to study and/or work on collaborative academic projects.  Rooms must be reserved, and users must be present in the room while using it. Study room users are subject to all College policies and rules.

Study Room Usage

  • Study rooms to be used for educational purposes only, such as group study sessions related to your classes.
  • The occupancy of each room is limited to the number of chairs assigned to it. (Chairs are not to be added or removed from study rooms). 
  • Study rooms are intended to be used for two (2) or more students at a time; no single person use. 
  • Monitor TV's are not to be used for gaming, streaming or watching non-educational videos/movies.
  • Rooms are not to be used for campus club meetings, social activities, or meetings not led by students.
  • There are no food or drinks allowed inside the study rooms. 
  • Reusable water bottles are allowed with proper spill proof lids.

Study Room Reservations

  • USE OF STUDY ROOMS ARE BY RESERVATION ONLY
  • Students must be currently enrolled during the present semester to make reservations.
  • Reservations are limited to 2 hours per day per user.
  • Room reservations are held for 30 minutes only.
  • Reservations may be made same day or up to 1 week in advance by currently enrolled students.
  • Student Center staff reserve the right to cancel reservations at any time for any reason.
  • If students are using the room without reservations, they will be asked to leave.

Study Rooms Rules

  • Please work quietly, with the door closed.
  • By reserving a study room you accept responsibility for maintaining the condition of the room and all of its furnishings and equipment.
  • Please clean up after yourself. Please push in chairs, put tables back to their original location and clean whiteboards.
  • When leaving a study room make sure that the door closes behind you, and that nobody remains in the room. Otherwise, you will be held responsible for subsequent damage to the room and its equipment.
  • Check with the Information & Resource Counter (2nd floor) for any needed dry-erase markers, erasers, and HDMI cables, keyboards and/or mouse.
  • Any student engaged in disruptive or inappropriate behavior can and will be instructed to leave and a Misconduct Report will be submitted to the Student Life Office.

  • You can contact us if there are any questions or concerns about the rooms.
  • If there are students in the room during your reservation time, please contact us so we may address the situation.
