About the AWD Program
Mt. San Antonio College School of Continuing Education offers specialized courses designed to enable students with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities to attend college and achieve their goals.
Our classes provide students with the skills they need to transition into more independent living and working environments in the community, and to prepare for other college courses. The Mt. SAC college campus and surrounding community provide a rich environment for instruction and skill development.
Our Purpose:
• To provide an instructional program designed to help students develop their social, personal, academic, vocational, and independent living skills.
• To provide an inclusive, structured environment that enables individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities to develop and manage appropriate patterns of behavior within an academic, social and vocational context.
The Mt. SAC AWD Program does not have the necessary resources to adequately support students with aggressive of self-injurious behaviors. If you, or someone you know, would benefit from a program specialized in meeting these needs, we recommend you contact your local Regional Center for information about resources available in your area.
