- Supplemental Benefits and Financial Wellness
Mt. San Antonio Community College District partners with American Fidelity Assurance Company to provide eligible employees with voluntary supplemental insurance, financial services, and access to tax-advantaged spending accounts. Participation in these programs is optional and subject to applicable eligibility requirements, plan provisions, and contribution limits.
Section 125 Cafeteria Plan
The Section 125 Cafeteria Plan helps eligible employees reduce their taxable income by allowing certain benefit costs to be deducted from their paycheck before federal and, where applicable, state taxes are calculated. By paying for eligible expenses with pre-tax dollars, employees can lower their taxable income and potentially increase their take-home pay.
The Section 125 Cafeteria Plan includes the following options:
- Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account (DFSA): Pay for eligible dependent care expenses with pre-tax dollars.
- Health Flexible Spending Account (FSA): Set aside pre-tax funds to pay for eligible unreimbursed medical, dental, and vision expenses.
For a list of expenses that may be eligible for reimbursement through an FSA, visit the American Fidelity FSA Eligibility List.
Voluntary Supplemental Insurance
American Fidelity offers a variety of voluntary supplemental insurance products to eligible employees. These plans are optional and 100% employee-paid, with premiums deducted through payroll deductions.
