Percussion Ensemble

  • Student playing marimba
  • The Percussion Ensemble is a specialized chamber ensemble for percussionists that explores a diverse range of musical styles, traditions, and performance practices. Students perform on a wide variety of instruments and develop skills in ensemble communication, rhythmic precision, musical expression, and collaborative performance. Repertoire may include contemporary concert works, world percussion traditions, keyboard percussion literature, and student-led projects.

The Percussion Ensemble is directed by Professor Ariel Campos. Students enroll in MUS 54: Percussion Ensemble, which meets on Wednesdays from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. during the fall and spring semesters. The ensemble is open to both music majors and non-majors and provides valuable performance experience for percussionists of varying backgrounds and interests.

Students interested in participating should contact Professor Campos (acampos84@mtsac.edu) for additional information regarding placement and participation opportunities.
