ABOUT THE ORCHESTRA

Mt. San Antonio College’s String Orchestra, directed by Professor Irene Shiao, welcomes both music majors and non-music majors who share a passion for making music. The ensemble brings together students with diverse musical backgrounds to explore an exciting and varied repertoire, from standard orchestral literature to contemporary works and memorable film music.
Through weekly rehearsals and a concert each semester, students grow as musicians, performers, and ensemble members while building lasting connections through music. Whether you are continuing your musical journey or discovering new opportunities to perform, the String Orchestra provides a supportive and inspiring environment to develop your artistry, collaborate with others, and share the joy of music with the Mt. SAC community and beyond.
