Tiffany Kuo


Dr. Tiffany Kuo is Professor of Music at Mount San Antonio College. As researcher, Prof. Kuo brings to light the pioneering of philanthropic patronage as foundational to American arts policy since the mid-twentieth century. As community college educator, Prof. Kuo currently leads a $300K California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office grant titled “Culturally Responsive Pedagogy & Practices,” aimed at developing DEIA-focused professional development opportunities to upskill faculty.

In print, Prof. Kuo has contributed to Critical Historiographies of the Post-War Avant-Garde, Dramaturgie Musicale Contemporaine en Europe, Mitteilungen der Paul Sacher StiftungThe Juilliard Journal, and Molecular and Cellular Biology. She was a council member of the American Musicological Society, and an affiliated scholar of Los Angeles Opera. Alongside music, she has volunteered at the Stanford’s Outreach Volunteer Alumni Link, and served on the board of the Arts District Los Angeles Business Improvement District. She is the recipient of the Rockefeller Archive Center’s Grant-in-Aid, the Paul Sacher Stiftung Scholarship, and Stanford University’s Robert H. Golden Medal and the John Planting Award.
